Watch the first movie for this (http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/sonicthehedgehog/index.html?q=sonic). Basically just a video montage of game clips, but it actually looks pretty sweet. I haven't played a Sonic game in a long while, but this one has actually caught my interest a bit. If they do it right, it could be pretty cool. The sense of speed is nice and the physics stuph with the other guy could be fun.

haha I love Sonic.
I've been looking for a decent Sonic game for my sister on the Gamecube. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sonic in 3D is too hard and unfun. I had Sonic Adventure 2: Battle for the NGC and hated it. And I love Sonic.

I gotta say I loved Sonic a lot more back in the 2D days. I played Sonic Adventure on DC, and it took a long time to get used to the controls. I'm still not pinpoint accurate like I used to be with the 2D games! Half the time I'm lost!
But yeah Sonic rules.

I definitely agree with Scottws and Xessive. I've actually never tried Sonic in 3D but I can't see it working. Look at a game like Viewtiful Joe, it is a side scroller but is still a lot of fun.
They should stick to the roots, and give Sonic a helluva lot of speed.

I don't know, I had Sonic Adventure for DC and I remember liking it. I mean it was CERTAINLY no Mario64, but I enjoyed it.

The Sonic Adventure games were pretty popular. And how can you make a judgment on something you've never even tried Pug?
But I still mostly prefer the 2D ones. I just thought this one looked better than the recent 3D entries, hence the thread. Check out the videos. I dig.

I know it sounds strange, but it feels odd. A 2D game and a 3D are totally different experiences.
What makes a good Sonic game fun is most stuff that goes with a platformer plus super fast speed. :P I can't imagine how that would work in a 3D environment. If it does, I am getting me a 360. :)

I think it's worked fairly well in the past, just not as well as it could if they worked at it a little harder. But the sense of speed you get with a 3D game is much greater than 2D, and I think if done right that aspect could actually be far more enjoyable.
Again - watch the videos!

You are right, it looks good.

I played Sonic Heroes on the PC. It was a mixed bag, but what they did right is sort of lock you to a track when you're Sonic racing along at a million mph. That way, you get the intended rush in 3D, without flying off in some random direction.
