Yeah I heard about that yesterday. That would suck so bad. Being stuck on a cruise ship is bad enough when the ship is in full working order.

New law passed in July making things harder on cruise lines that come to the US? Require a "sexual assault specialist" on board? Nice. Expect to fly abroad to be able to get on a cruise ship soon. That was already the trend. Now it will get worse.

I could care less. I hate cruises anyway.
The best vacations I've taken are those all-inclusive things. Did one in Mexico and one in the Dominican Republic and both were amazing snd not really that expensive in the end.

Oh come on, how bad is that really?
Passengers: "Oh, help we're stranded at sea!!"
Rescue: "Where are you? Can you get to shelter? Do you have any food and water??"
Passengers: "We're on a cruise ship!!"
Rescue: "Oh.. Well.. Sit tight.. We'll be there soon-ish."
Passengers: "Please hurry, the band's starting to repeat songs!"
I mean, it's not as bad as being stranded on an emergency floatation device after a plane has a "water landing."

Being stuck in darkness for 3 days with the smell of vomit and feces all around is pretty bad, especially when you've paid a boatload of money for a vacation.

Shitty, literally. Those particular issues all seem like results of negligence. As soon as the power went out they should have disposed of anything that could rot, that's just standard procedure anywhere else. Might not be able to do much about overflowing toilets but in case of an emergency I'm guessing no one would judge you for "going" into the open sea (for privacy they could have set up makeshift curtains). Granted it is over 3000 people but I'm having a hard time grasping that people started shitting all over each other when the electricity died.
They'll get refunds and a free trip to compensate. Fair for unforeseen circumstances.
I'm not saying what happened was not bad, I'm glad those people made it out relatively well, I'm just saying it could have been A LOT worse.. They weren't hijacked and they weren't caught in a storm or any other disaster, thank God. They all came out of the ordeal infuriated, agitated, and frustrated; that's pretty damn good and they ought to be grateful no one was seriously injured or wounded.

Cruises are for suckers. If Monkey Island has taught me anything, it's that boats are easily obtained through the use of random inanimate objects and clever bargaining.
