This is interesting; w/ some messing around and whatnot, you can get a X-Box 360 HD-DVD Drive to work on the PC (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3155190)
360 HD-DVD Drive Works On PCs...Sort of
Get ready to totally void your warranty, though.

When I get bored, I do a crossword puzzle or maybe read a book. The guys over at Uneasy Silence, on the other hand, bust out the screwdrivers and get to ripping things apart. Their current mission: see if the 360's oh-so-sweetly-priced HD-DVD drive was compatible with your garden-variety PC. Hey, they're both from Microsoft...what's the worst that could happen?
Sorry, I wasn't setting you up for a shot of the charred remains of some poor slob's tower. No, with a bit of unscrewing, some driver downloading, a bit of tilting your head to the left, and just a pinch of eye squinting, it all works. Not what you'd call "well," but it works. The really bizarre part is that the HD-DVD plugs right into a Mac beautifully and fires up right away, though it won't actually play the DVDs because no such player exists for the Mac OS yet.
Uneasy Silence's website seems to have been overloaded with curious technophiles, though, so you may have to wait a bit for further instructions on opening pandora's HD-DVD box, if you're so inclined.

That's pretty funny. I love when people just take shit apart and do stuff like this. I don't know why.

Probably b/c it's interesting to hear people tinker w/ stuff and attempt to do something w/ it!
Especially if they succeed!

Cause if it works it makes you feel like you've bent the rule and made a big company look like a goof. Current HD-DVD drives cost $600 each, and this costs what? $200? Making it work ok would be pretty cool.

Great point, Puggy.
Saving $$$$ = important!
Especially to Cheapy-MyD!
