Neato! (http://bethblog.com/index.php/2011/01/14/arx-fatalis-source-code-patch-released/)
Today, in thanks to the game’s fans, Arkane is supporting Arx with two excellent, brand-new downloads: a big patch, and the game’s source code.
The patch brings the game up to version 1.21, fixing stability on Windows 7 and Windows Vista machines, performance issues on Nvidia GPUs, and a number of other things that improve play in 2011.
You can get the patch and the source code here (http://arkane-studios.com/uk/arx_downloads.php). Pretty sweet, and I can't wait to see what sorts of things people do with the source.

That's freakin' awesome! :)
Now, we need to hear Arx Fatalis 2 announced by Arkane...

Very cool indeed. That game was something.

Arx Libertatis - Version 1.0 Source Port released. (http://arx-libertatis.org/)
This is an Open Source Port for Arx Fatalis PC to run on modern OS's and systems.
After over a year of work we are proud to announce the first release of Arx Libertatis. While some minor graphical glitches remain, the game is fully playable on both Windows and Linux as well as other platforms. There are packages available for Windows and Linux. (http://arx.parpg.net/Download) On other systems you may still be able to run the game by compiling the source code (http://wiki.arx-libertatis.org/Download#Source_Code) yourself.
Besides porting the game to SDL, OpenGL, OpenAL and the amd64 architecture while maintaining native Direct X backends, we fixed some performance issues with newer operating systems, added more configuration options and improved the interface scaling for widescreen resolutions. See the wiki for the full changelog. (http://wiki.arx-libertatis.org/Changelog#Arx_Libertatis_1.0_.22Bloody_Gobblers.21.22)
But that does not mean that the work on Arx Libertatis is done. There is still much code to clean and features to add. Contributions, small or large, are welcome: Feel free to fork the project on github (https://github.com/arx/ArxLibertatis) or join us in #arxfatalis on the Freenode IRC network.
