First read this:

Now, watch this:
-
I actually feel bad I didnt watch the show now. I would have loved to have seen it all live.
"I was sure the Golden Globe for special effects would go to the team that airbrushed [the Sex and the City 2] poster. Girls, we know how old you are. I saw one of you in an episode of Bonanza."
I'm in tears.

Haha. Man. It was probably a horrible idea to go that far with people in the industry in which you work, but the man is a genius. And look at that smile, haha. What a guy.
EDIT - This one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDh0z_ZeZ60) has 3 extra minutes of footage!
-
had the people who hired him not watched his stand ups? he's always been unapologetically harsh, his humour is almost entirely based around being an arsehole!
-
"Thank you God for making me an atheist"
Hahaha. He probably made most of middle american hate him right there. One of my heroes.
-
I saw some of his stand up and thought it was ok, haven't seen any of his sitcoms either. However, I do watch The Ricky Gervais Show on HBO and I completely love it to death. Its not often when I laugh so hard that I actually cry.
-
The guy made the Golden Globes actually bearable.
But, actually he did exactly what he was hired to do: create controversy. Let's not forget that he hosted the show last year so it's not like nobody knew what they were getting into with him. This is just an attempt at making the Globes actually relevant in some way by turning the show into a celebrity roast.
I find the whole thing rather hilarious because Hollywood is so sensitive, yet tries so hard to show that it has a sense of humour by hiring someone like Gervais. Just look at the boo-hoo-cry-me-a-river response by Downey Jr. (and others who didn't like Gervais). Oh no someone made a joke about you cause you were a fuck up a few years back!
Anyway, it's great publicity for Ricky Gervais.

Looks like he is fucked:

Last years version of that compilation is also hysterical, check that out.

Honestly, I don't get what the big deal is. It was like an extremely polite celebrity roast and I respect Ricky for pulling it off as eloquently as he did.

Hahaha! "Just a stab in the dark." I haven't seen Ricky in a while. He's looking healthy there.

Another one... these are amazing. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQOJbLTRWfM)
