Lasted 30 seconds. Some reports have it at 7 something, while others at 6 something.
My feet were on the floor when it happened and everything shook for ten seconds while I was trying to grasp what was happening. The windows and stuff were making noise too and just when it started to feel scary, it stopped.
Never experienced one before. Have you guys ever?

It was 7.4, and termed as massive. Thankfully, the main point of impact was a remote area. At Karachi, it was about 6.4. Good thing it lasted only 30 seconds.

Wow. Good thing it was centered away from you. Inevitable aftershocks are inevitable. Maybe you won't feel those where you are, but keep it in mind.
When I was a kid, I woke up to my bed shaking and squeaking once. I think the magnitude was around 5.

I've been through a couple (I live in California, it happens), but nothing traumatic. Felt the big quake in '89 that knocked down the bridge, but was outside and didn't feel much. Mom was inside and felt a lot more.

We've actually had minor earthquakes that could be felt here, but they've all happened while I was asleep so I never noticed.

I've only ever experienced one, when I was in Colorado. I felt it, and said "did a truck or something just drive by?" and my brother said "I guess". We were far enough from the road that we shouldn't have felt a big truck going by. Later I found out it was an earthquake.
