That's fair. It doesn't look much more than Battlefield Bad Company 2 but I hope its fun-factor is over-the-top!

IGN -> 7.0 on X360 and PS3. (http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/115/1155414p1.html)

SP Campaign = 5 hours.
Quote
The single-player campaign is a lot of fun, but its inexcusable shortness is also Homefront's greatest downfall. Homefront is going to run you $60 new, and if you're not at all interested in multiplayer, then the value Homefront delivers to you as a consumer is minimal. The campaign's seven chapters can easily be completed in five hours.

And while there's reason for some to go back for a second playthrough (including Trophy/Achievement hunting or scouring environments for the game's collectibles in the form of story-telling newspaper clippings), most gamers will find themselves satiated with a single playthrough.

Wow...is it me, or is this game bricking in price rather quickly?  :o

Amazon.com is selling Homefront PC to download currently at $46.97. (http://www.amazon.com/THQ-40585Homefront2-Homefront-Game-Download/dp/B004NBZBME/ref=amb_link_355583702_1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=auto-sparkle&pf_rd_r=01CG3EYQFGFME6NZE99V&pf_rd_t=301&pf_rd_p=1291191262&pf_rd_i=homefront)
And, you get a $15 credit on your next Amazon.com-sold purchase in video games - retail or download.

Keep in mind - Homefront PC requires Steam.

I had pre-odered Homefront: Resist Edition (Steelbook) from Amazon about a month ago for 25 pounds (GBP), which calculates to roughly $40 USD.

Amazon by far has the best prices on new releases and the occasional pre-order.

Yeah, Amazon's something else on these PC downloads for new releases, of late.
It's like they wanna compete w/ Steam and retail.

Right now for PC downloads...
DA2 PC = $41;
Shogun 2: Total War = $40;
and of course the Homefront PC = $47; with a $15 video game coupon for next purchase (retail or DL).

EDIT:
I should note, I seem to also buy lots of music to download from Amazon for download, as well. As they beat most places by about half-price or better, on their monthly $5 sales for select albums or their daily $3.99 or less sales.

Ok, so my brother just got his retail copy of Homefront and get this: the DVD only installs 5GB and the game needs to download the remaining 4.5GB through Steam. Not sure if it's an installation error but that's ridiculous.

I will confirm once my copy arrives and try my installation.

Seriously - WTH?  :o

EDIT:
Homefront sells 1 million. (http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/33702/THQ_Homefront_Reaches_1M_Sales_24M_Shipped.php?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+GamasutraNews+%28Gamasutra+News%29)

Wow, and Bulletstorm could only get a quarter of that. I guess it shows how a couple million in advertising can do for your game.

I have no idea what Homefront is but I know Bulletstorm. Shows how much I've been keeping up.

It's been all over XBox Live, and I've heard that major metropolis areas have billboards and such all over the place in the US.

I'm pretty sure it looked like Buttlestorm was getting more press on the internet though. This is probably more of a case of things like Homefront appealing to all the people who just keep up with games like Call of Duty. Tap into that market just a little and you get a lot of sales.

Yea I just saw it on Steam, but I haven't been on a gaming website in a while.

I'm waiting for the inevitable $20-30 price-tag. Seriously, 4-6 hours for a SP campaign is garbage for length, since MP portions often just doesn't seem to interest me very much.
