Have a DS?  Go buy it.  Maybe the funnest puzzle/adventure game I've ever played.

Already bought.  Now I just have to find time to play it.

To update, I've put an hour and a half to two hours into this and the game is phenomenal.

Yeah, I'm constantly amazed by how entertaining it actually is.  The plot is actually interesting, the characters actually amusing in a quirky Japanese sort of way, and the game mechanic really works with the rest of the game.  Very well done.

Not to mention the animation is unbelievable.

Yeah, I was going to ask - the characters are all made of polygons, right?  Everything seems to animate a bit too smoothly to be sprites.

That looks like 2D animation to me, and IGN agrees (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=44lWzvS_1-w) (0:45).  I suppose it's possible that the production involved capturing frames from 3D-model movement.

Edit:  After watching that more closely, now I think they did capture frames from 3D-model movement.

After reading your post I looked it up.  It seems you hit the nail on the head from what I can find;  they modeled all the animations with polygons and then traced over them.

Finished it tonight. Amazing game all the way through and I found the ending and twists to be pretty awesome

I need to get back to this for sure.  Spent some time with it and loved it, but I haven't touched a game since the move.
