Streets of Rage: Streetwise?

This is super impressive. Technically, it's miraculous. After seeing so many 2D remakes require hefty CPU power because of the hoggish high-level tools used, I'm so happy to see efficient coding. This thing hovers at around 30% of my ancient Northwood P4, and I can go do other stuff in Windows while it keeps playing in the background without breaking stride. If you want HQ interpolated visuals, then you need some CPU muscle. Windows scaling works fine for me. Artistically, it's dead on. The music, which has been remade too, stays true to the original, but has added sound quality, punch and flair. Kudos to the musicians. They're oggs in a folder (which can be opened in Winamp). Visually, it's very true to the original, with some added resolution. Gameplay-wise, for the half hour or so I played so far, it's a joy. Once I mapped the buttons to correspond to what I'm used to in SoR2, I felt right at home. Surprises crop up constantly, as you can take alternate routes to content I've never seen before. You can also choose alternate paths after some stages, a la Castlevania 3.
I'll be playing this a lot more. I highly recommend it to fans of the genre, and particularly SoR.
Thanks a bunch, idol.

That looks incredibly awesome. Download away!

Looks like the download links got pulled. I'm sure Sega had something to say about it.
Luckily its the internet so I should be able to locate a mirror without too much trouble.

Hmm. I haven't been able to find mirrors to the final version. Plenty of older versions. There's one torrent for the new PC version, with no seeders.
Edit: Searched a bit more: Link (http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/downloads/3249269/streets-of-rage-remake-50/)
