The 20 Best HTML 5 Games (http://www.maximumpc.com/article/features/goodbye_flash_20_best_html_5_games) according to MaximumPC
It's pretty amazing how far HTML5 has come along, virtually rendering Flash obsolete.

Nothing would please me more than to see Flash fade away. But what is the scoop on html 5? Is it (hopefully) less of a resource hog than the Adobe garbage? From what I've read here before, I take it I need to install new browsers to get access to it. Do they take kindly to older PCs? I know I could go search around for info. Just being lazy this morning.

Hehe it's ok, I have mornings like that too.. sometimes evenings as well.
HTML5 seems to employ more CPU resources but it seems to work much better with my netbook than running a full-page (or fullscreen) Flash item.
The browser you use will certainly make a difference. The major ones (Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera, and IE9) run HTML5 quite beautifully.
I'm curious how well HTML5 runs on mobile devices and mobile browsers.
