If you're ever able/willing to get onto PSN Trash Panic, Gravity Crash, Pixel Junk Shooter, and Nobby Nobby Boy are all very worth a look. Also, I'm pretty convinced that the best version of Lumines is on PSN if you're still interested in that.

I found 3D Dot Game Heroes for $20 and Yakuza 3 for about $25.. Worth it?

I love the Yakuza series and thats about what I paid for it. Havent tried 3D Dot Game yet.

3D Dot is a cool looking game.  I picked it up but haven't really played it at all.

Beo, if you like shooters, I found the Resistance series to be excellent.

i'll probably pick up resistance at some point, but i just ordered killzone 2 - so think i've got that genre covered for the time being. playing through heavy rain at the moment, enjoying it so far - but something that's become apparent is the ps3's upscaling to 1080p looks like total ass!

edit - eheheh, the upscaling is much better now that i've turned off sharpening on my tv. doh!

I was going to say let the TV do the scaling.  But if you found the issue, cool.  Still, I think it's best to output from the console in its native res (presumably 720p), then let the TV do all the scaling work.  That way, you're sure that the image isn't getting scaled twice.  That assumes that your TV's scaling function is as good or better than the PS3's.
