Title: CryEngine 3 SDK released
Post by: idolminds on Wednesday, August 17, 2011, 05:46:05 PM
Fun! (http://www.shacknews.com/article/69776/cryengine-3-sdk-offered-free)

Another high end engine available for free for people to tinker with and make games. If you decide to sell your game, Crytek takes 20%.

Kind of interesting how all these engines are just free to use now. If I were looking at making a total conversion mod I would simply make it standalone with one of these engines.

I'm sure Crytek is already at work on CryEngine 3.5 or 4.

Yeah, Epic kind of set a trend when they released a version of UE3 SDK for FREE and if you build a game for commercial release, they'll take a percentage.
Makes it easier for a game designer just get into the biz than pay a flat-out license fee, I guess.
