Awesome looking old school dungeon crawler. (http://www.giantbomb.com/battle-demon-snails-in-legend-of-grimrock/17-4767/) The spell casting stuff looks neat. Love the way its going for that labyrinthine dungeon layout feel.

Aw man I thought this said Legend of Grimlock and I got very excited.

Dude, that looks fucking awesome. The nostalgia hit me like a truck.
-
hahaha I too thought it said, "Legend of Grimlock!"
How awesome would a transformers game about Grimlock be. :)

haha "Of course, the reverse switch! Why did I think of that?!"

This game looks really good. It reminds me of the hours I spent trying to beat Shadowgate back in the day.

I thought the Dinobots were cool when they came out, especially Grimlock. But then I saw his representation in the cartoon: "Me, Grimlock!" Yuck.

I wrote to Nintendo Power repeatedly about this game. Mom and Dad never would let me call the hotline for help, so I always had to wait weeks for a response to my query.

Looks so fun.

Dan Stapleton (of GameSpy) was giving out FREE pre-order codes for GOG yesterday on this via Twitter.
I failed miserably. :(
EDIT - 3-28-2012:
Dan's back at it, again tonite - giving codes away for Grimrock.

Dan's at Gamespy now? Huh.

For anyone who missed the sale a couple of days ago where it was 5.99, this game is still on sale for 8.99 right now during the Steam sale. I got it a couple of days ago and am highly enjoying it so far after almost 5 hours in.
-
The gameplay is so retro, it's awesome! haha Brings back some memories.
-
So I just remember this thread being really long, and assumed it was fully of how comments on this game. Having finally bought the game and played for a bit, I came here to read about everyone's experiences, only to read a lot of Transformers puns. :P
Anyway, the game is really addictive. I like it. Worth the sale price.

Well, fuck. Looks like I won't be able to finish this game anytime soon. I've encountered a bug/performance issue that makes the game unplayable. I've been playing on all the highest settings for about 15 hours so far with no problems. Over several attempts at a play session today, the game's framerate shoots down to where everything is in slow motion. I tried playing on the lowest settings possible and it doesn't help. Looking into the issue on the official LoG forums it seems several people have encountered this issue and only after reaching a certain point in the game with some variations, with some people's graphics cards even overheating only when playing this game and there doesn't seem to be any kind of fix for it. I was really loving this game too but I refuse to go back to it until a patch fixes the issue.
EDIT 8/1/12: I'm an idiot, my graphics card was getting too hot because a loose cable had fallen into a cooling fan and was stopping it from blowing properly. I read several posts where people were getting massive slowdown in the same area as me and assumed the worst but since I fixed the issue with the cable blocking the fan my GPU temperature is back to normal and I am playing just fine again!
-
I ended up finishing this just now. The last few hours were pretty tense and I had to be on my toes more with the combat. The last boss battle was pretty hectic, but fun. I am curious to see what Almost Human ends up doing with their next game.
