We went to the doc today and everything looks fine, so I suppose it's time to let the cat out of the bag.
She's 8 weeks along, due date of April 9.
Scared to death and excited at the same time.
-
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome news. :)
-
Congrats and best wishes to you. :)
-
Congrats dude!
-
Awesome!!
Were you guys expecting a pregnancy? Hoping for a boy or girl? Excited? Anxious?
-
Welcome to a real life-changer. Congratulations, daddy-to-be.

Well, we weren't going to try until later this year. We just sort of threw caution to the wind, thinking it would be a while before she actually got pregnant. Yeah, took a week and a half.
Hoping for a boy, but expecting a girl for that very fact.
Excited and anxious. Definite game changer.
Thanks to everyone for the congrats.
-
Congrats! :D
-
DIBS ON HAVING YOUR FIRST BORN NAMED AFTER ME.
Yessss, got it.
-
Congrats again, dude. For your sake I hope it isn't a girl. I don't know if you're anything like me, but if I ever had one, I would do nothing but follow her around with a shotgun for the rest of my life. Good luck to all three of you.
-
Congratulations, K-Man!!! Keep us in the loop.
-
Congrats, K-man!! ;D
-
Baby's a week overdue. We go into the hospital at 5am tomorrow to be induced.
Shit's about to get real.
-
May she launch the baby out like a scud missile of freedom.
-
Oh man, this is exciting! I cannot imagine the anxiety you're feeling right now! ;D
Sorry if that didn't help your anxiety :P
Congrats dude!! Keep us posted!!
-
Awesome! And definitely keep us posted on little gpw/gpwina.
-
Good luck dude. According to the clock things should be happening now so by the time you see this: hope it all went well.
-
Boy or girl, you will be extremely h appy. They both will make you happy over the years in their own way.

This Giant Bomb podcast (http://media.giantbomb.com/podcast/giantbombcast-041712.mp3) is perfect timing for a new father. At least the first part of it.
-
What a long day. She began labor at 6 am yesterday. Finally delivered at 11:25 lat night. Got to sleep around 4 and woke up at 7 by the nurse. SO FREAKING TIRED
-
Welcome to your new lifestyle. :D
Congratulations, papa! My best wishes to you and your new . . . er, boy? girl?
-
Girl. Willa Jane
-
Hello, Willa! Welcome! :)
-
Nice. Good luck, man, that sounds like a rough time. Hope Beth is well.
-
She's doing well. They ended up having to snip a little to give Willa's head some room. So Beth's a little sore because of that. She was a trooper. She has a vagina of steel. This is all so weird. Kids is something that always felt like it was decades away. Now I've got this little one that I'm responsible for.
-
rather you than me. :P
enjoy your spawn!
-
Congratulations K-man! :)
-
I just got my babysitting license in case you need somebody.
-
So uh, hey. Not to steal K-man's thunder but this seems like the most appropriate place.

Waves of stupidness abound.
-
The fatherhood is getting thick up in here.
-
Congrats! How did I miss that you were expecting?
-
Heh, you didn't miss anything. He never said. That's how Sy rolls, ninjas babies all up in this mother!
-
Haha!
Congrats to all the daddies, present, future and stealthy.

Obligatory photo now that I'm home

See. Cory knows how I am. That's why we love him.
Fancy though. Already in a dress and pink bow. Mabel will be lucky if she has anything more than a silly hat or onesie for the next year.
-
The hospital put the bow on the first night. We had her picture taken at the hospital in that dress. It's the dress her mother came home in over 29 years ago.
-
awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
-
Sy, you have an unbelievable amount of self-control. The minute the two lines showed up on the pregnancy test I wanted to shout from the rooftops.
-
I just really like surprising people with stuff... maybe a little too much. For example, my parents didn't know I was going to graduate from college until a few nights before the event.
I was good enough to "restrain" myself here and let them know when we found out.
-
After 4 miscarriages between daughters, I learned not to shout or congratulate before successful delivery. Restraint is the prudent approach, if you can manage it.
-
Yeah we really lucked out. Aside from some high BP on Beth's part, pregnancy was without complication. And (so far at least) we've got a healthy baby girl.
My ex girlfriend was pregnant too, just a few weeks behind Beth, and her baby died about 3 weeks ago. I can't imagine having to go through the pain of delivering a stillborn fetus. Knowing all that work and you don't have anything in the end. Especially after getting over the first few "dangerous" months, decorating the nursery, baby showers, etc etc. I just hurt for her and her husband. Especially now that I know how it feels to be a parent.
So in short: restraint is definitely the better option.
-
So, the worst thing about adjusting to being a parent?
Dealing with the fucking in laws. I mean, you come to "help" which results me in more or less having to entertain you for the next two weeks while I'm trying to keep Aimee and baby comfortable. All the while you get to stare at and hold my baby yet you only willingly giving it back to us when she starts to cry. I effectively loose half my apartment while they're around because they fucking just sit there. They have no will to get up and do shit on their own or actually help unless told to do something. No wonder they're great government employees. Thankfully they're staying in a hotel but fuck me. Anything I've have to adjust to with baby has paled in comparison to dealing with them.
Tonight. They're fucking suggestion to helping? KFC. Really, that's your suggestion? We told you your last dinner passed through Aimee and made baby gassy all last night and hence crying to about 4am. You think KFC is the next best step? I love bad food as much as the next guy, but now is not that time.

I've just emailed this thread to your in-laws.
