So we don't know how soon we can get Overwritten.net back or if it will be transferred to another owner. Time we start thinking about a new name, get the URL going, and alert everyone to the change.
Or we can wait it out and see what happens. YOU DECIDE!
If you've got new url suggestions, post them here and we can talk it over.
-
So, wait. De we need a new name, or is it that we need a backup in case we can't get it back?
Edit: Woo! I can post here. We're back! sort of?

Unless you can help it... I think a name change is in order. Give it a bit more time and see if Antares renews I guess. That would be ideal, because we'd lose a few lurkers.
-
I say we wait to see what happens with the OW.net domain. You never know, we might be able to buy it free and clear in early January even if Ant is not cooperative.
I don't get what the problem is. I get that he doesn't have a computer, but can't he call GoDaddy? Or use a friend's computer? Or did all his friends swear off of computers too?

I voted for WHAT? because I'm not strongly opinionated on the matter. I just think everybody should vote so we have some idea of how many people have found this place. If there are very few votes/very few people have found this place, changing the name could lead to a huger userbase loss.
-
Ok, voted for "WHAT?".
-
I'm used to "overwritten.net" but I'm open to new branding.
I say we try to get OW back and if it's taken we'll worry about a new name :)
-
I said no, because we can just wait like Scott said.
-
Yeah we'll give it some more time. Just wanted to see how everyone else felt about it.
-
So if Antares takes no action, do we know when the domain name will become available?
-
i voted for "no", since we can use this for the time being. if we can't get it back in a few months, then my opinion may change.
-
Yeah, I voted no. May as well see if we can't get it back. If so I can just get everything going under my name and we'll never have this problem again, the way it should have been to begin with.
-
I voted for a new name. Move on, never have this problem again. When the old name becomes available get it as a backup (or don't bother). At least I think this option made sense if the new name was bought right away; at this point it's obvious the decision has been made to wait.
