Title: I have no desire to go back to CA this Christmas
Post by: sirean_syan on Sunday, December 18, 2011, 02:23:57 PM
1) I'm too busy and too behind and getting work done there is going to suck.

2) Leaving the cats with the boarder sucks. We drop them off in a couple hours and I already miss them.

3) It's finally just starting to get cold here.

4) I will completely lack the capacity to catch up on games or painting.

5) I hate the big family party and this year is going to be especially big.

6) Seeing my parents and brother's family is nice, but staying a week with the in-laws.... ugh (maybe I'll get more work done then).

7) I guess it will be nice that Aimee and I will finally be able to spend Christmas day together (now that were married we don't have to pretend like we're not), but I would much rather have a super quiet holiday with just the two of us (and have actually been waiting for the chance to do that).

8) We're going to be gone 20 days. 20 fucking days.

Oh well. What crap do the rest of you get to put up with for the holiday?

My moms side of the family is huge and the gatherings are very busy and noisy. Dads side is smaller and somehow perpetually late (Christmas dinner at 10pm and opening gifts afterwards? Surely you jest). We used to visit them (moms more than dads) on Christmas but the last few years we've just chilled at home.

But damn dude, 20 days? Crazy.

I'll be spending Christmas alone in an empty house with my dog. I'd love to go back and see my family but it isn't happening.

Ok dude, I'll most likely be at home so let's Skype or something. I cannot abide you at home alone on Christmas!

I don't celebrate Christmas per se, it's more of a social function for me but damn it all I can't let you be, Que!

Ah, it's all good. I'm sort of used to it. I was hoping to get back home but the place I was going to board my dog is closing its doors, so I have to look for a new one and there's no way I'll get everything in line in time.

If you get lonely or bored, you know where to find me.

In IRC. I'm hinting at IRC.

You should come on IRC.

I should. I haven't lately just because the rig is still dead and my laptop has only recently found a more permanent home on a table that had been stacked with garbage for far too long. I can use it on the iPod, but I always forget I have an app for it, heh.

I miss Christmas with family. My husband doesn't come from a culture that celebrates Christmas. oh well, another Christmas away from home  :(

So tell him where he can stick his culture and make him go get you a tree.
