Cools is being a busy bee and thinking about a front page. So where do we stand on that? I know it was something we wanted before but we figured we should see if others still wanted it before putting the work into creating it.
Yes, no, discuss what you'd want or not. Should it be all original content, maybe a tumblr-style blog where we can link to cool stuff we see online, would you even look at it either way?

There's no neutral option, and I'm pretty neutral on it. I don't think I could contribute very much, and I really don't have the time to read game and entertainment stuff with any regularity. And if I actually do really get into school, there'll be even less time for that sort of stuff.
So... yeah, I guess I'm neutral.

I only voted yes because there wasn't a neutral option at the time, which was kind of stupid of me to do. If there was a way to take back my vote to neutral now that its been added I would. I wouldn't mind seeing more stuff but I don't have the time to contribute right now since I've been spending a lot of my spare time trying to get some IT certifications. To be honest I don't even know what I could contribute once I do have the time.

It would depend on how much content is generated. Maybe some sort of hybrid system where better forum posts are featured on a main page to increase turnover could work.
I know that I wouldn't ever bother to write anything specifically for a main page, anything I post would end up on the community board. It's kind of like Serious Topics. I feel it's presumptuous to start a new topic in there so I post in the Community board and if someone feels it should be moved over, they can do it.

We could always try and see if it succeeds. I'd definitely read it. Although I can definitely see some redundancy, since anything worth posting on the front page would inevitably be discussed in the forum if the front page didn't exist.

The front page will be driven by and tied to the forum. The question is are people still interested in seeing community submitted news, reviews, commentaries, etc. and who among us would want to contribute on a regular basis given the chance?

I'd be glad to contribute some content on a semi-regular basis.

I'm fairly indifferent. I like that we're a relatively small community, and if we did provide news, reviews, etc. we could attract a larger crowd and whatnot that could change the face of the community. However, one of the issues with being a small community is that activity is slow and it can be hours before a new post/thread is made.

I do post a lot...
So I'd have no problem w/ my kick-ass gaming-related posts of my impressions on games, digital deals, or anything from these forums winding up ALSO on the front page. ;)

Meh, nobody's perfect but you do a fantastic job of listing as many as you can with that much detail!

Thanks! I do try to catch and list as much that I can find w/ good deals and if they have any sort of DRM.
