For $14.99 (http://www.shacknews.com/article/72493/journey-releases-march-13-for-1499)
This is the next game from thatgamecompany, makers of flOw and Flower. Its some sort of desert exploration thingy. Looks great.

Ugh. Been waiting for this, but now I can't justify the purchase. Boo.
-
I will be picking up (downloading) the game, but part of me wonders if the window of opportunity has passed. It's been in development for what seems like forever and people are sort of down on artsy games right now. Hopefully it'll work out well enough the thatgamecompany.

Fucking finally! It comes out during the meet though, so I will have to get it when I come back.

So, if you're interested in these types of games you really need to play. It's good.
You also need to play online. I also think you should try and play online while the game is new so it is potentially new to everyone around you.
Those of you at the meet, get on a PS3 if you can and go through it. Especially you Idol.

Just finished this tonight. What an amazing experience. I'll also second what Sy said about playing online while the game is new, it definitely adds to the experience when someone else joins in your game. Its really hard to put into words about what makes this game so amazing without giving away the game itself, the title really tells you all you need to know in a way. Its not about getting to the end, what makes it amazing is the journey getting there.

I played through last night. I remember people saying they were "moved" by Flow and especially Flower. I was not. So when everyone started talking about this game and how emotional blah blah blah I took it with a grain of salt. I was moved, however. The game is short. My entire play through took less than two hours. But in my opinion that's a good thing because it lends itself to repeated play.
Get it.

This is the first time I've ever truly regretted not owning a PS3. For shame. The game looks incredible and right up my alley. Glad it's turned out as hoped.

In a bit of related news, Kellee Santiago is going to be leaving ThatGameCompany. (http://www.giantbomb.com/news/kellee-santiago-exiting-thatgamecompany/4058/)
Hopefully, things continue to run well for them without her there.
-
Damn, that sucks. She clearly has been part of something cool, and she's kinda cute, too.
-
I just played it through, lived up to hype. I think the last companion I had stayed through from the second half of the game on out. Just one incredible moment after the next.

Kinda good I waited.
Journey Collectors Edition (http://thatgamecompany.com/general/journey-collectors-edition-blu-ray-disc-arrives-at-stores-near-you-august-28/). Retail release, $30, coming at the end of August.
Comes with Journey, Flower, and Flow so its more of a "thatgamecompany collection". Also includes a making-of, creator commentary on all 3 games, 3 mini-games that the company made in their own personal 24 hour game jams, soundtracks, dynamic themes...like a whole bunch of stuff.

Yeah, I picked that up. Part of me also did it because it comes with a free month of Playstation Plus, which means I get Jet Set Radio for a buck cheaper and a couple days early. :-*
