I wonder how an Indian TV reporter would be treated by the American press if he came over to do a similar story in myopic, unaware, ignorant, gauche Middle America.  Oh, but then again rudeness against foreigners out of their element isn't allowed in the American press.  Political correctness forbids it.

Poverty tourism is such a strange concept. Let's go and look at poor people like their creatures at the zoo instead of fellow human beings. How is that a good time?

The eating with hands comments is a bit weird but all she was doing with that was pointing out her own ignorance instead of interfering with peoples lives.

I'm fairly certain I posted the story here of the time I went to buy crack/meth with a crack/meth head. It was fucking amazing and the most surreal thing I've ever experienced.

I don't know, I couldn't find it and I really wanted to - I was wasted when I went on the tour and it's fuzzy at best.  Luckily, I did find the thread where the read flags went up regarding Beo's housemate.
