So unfortunately I didn't get my widescreen LCD. :(
They stopped selling them here and all that was available was a 19'' LCD with a kick ass real 2ms response time. So I took a dead pixel program with me to check the LCDs there. All of them had at least one dead pixel. Well I assumed it was a dead pixel since it was just a black dot on a background of any color. One LCD I checked out was excellent, except on a blue background it would should a black dot, though was fine on any other background.
I thought it was better than the others so I bought it and came home. After watching a lot of scrubs, that pixel has decided to turn blue whenever there is a dark background. I am assuming it is a stuck pixel and not an actual dead one, in which case I should congratulate myself on my decision since there is a chance to fix it.
Anyone have any knowledge on this? I don't want to use a rubbing technique in case other pixels get stuck or something.

Wish I could help, but every LCD I've ever had has been completely spot free. Only dead pixels I've ever run across are on my PSP... 3 small ones, and I don't even notice them anymore.

Hey so how was your thanksgiving? Did you have those cheese thingees? :)
On the subject of LCDs, this thing is so freakin' bright, my eye strain thingee is returning.

My Thanksgiving was good, but no blintzes. We didn't end up where we had planned on going.
Can't you turn down the brightness on your LCD? Mine have never given me any problems.
-
I saw some frozen blintzes the other day. I should pick some up heh. They were in a pack ready to be fried.
Yea I've turned it down but for a moment my eyes were like this ::)

LCD's really are bright. I run mine at 0 brightness out of 100 and it's still brighter than my CRT.

Ok thank goodness. Here I thought I was taking crazy pills.

Yeah, first thing I did with mine is turn it almost complete down on the brightness.
As far as the dead pixel. I have one on the bottom left that behaves similarly; it's only visible with certain backgrounds and appears as a blue dot. There are apps you can find that flash a bunch of colors non stop that some people say can "unfreeze" a stuck pixel. Didn't work for me, but the pixel is not that noticable so it don't matter much to me.
