Title: Steam Big Picture
Post by: Xessive on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, 12:04:46 AM
Steam Big Screen Picture is available on beta right now!

Basically, think of as the Media Centre style for Steam that's also gamepad-friendly. I've tried it out and it is great for TV and even for the regular screen. Although using classic Steam is faster Big Screen mode is the "Duplo" simplified interface that makes everything easier to see.

EDIT:
Sorry, I had the wrong name, it is apparently Big Picture.

Yea it's not bad, its very much a beta though. Browser stuff is weird and some other things didn't work, oh and then it crashed.

Yeah, it does not seem to work well with non-Steam games added to the Steam library. It definitely needs a lot of work but it's shaping up quite well. I actually prefer the friend chat in it over the traditional Steam chat windows.

GameSpy -> A Reddit user figured out how to install Steam games anywhere you want, since the new Big Picture update went live... (http://pc.gamespy.com/articles/122/1226043p1.html)

haha, I like the first comment on the RPS post on that (http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/09/11/finally-an-in-built-way-to-choose-steam-install-locations/):

Oh my giddy aunt… this is amazing.

And also, the fact that it’s amazing, is entirely pathetic.
