So I am finally playing this. I upgraded to an iPhone 6... gotta say, this game is great. I loved Bastion, but I think I may love this more. So glad Kasavin is involved in making games, because he really hits home with gameplay elements that I'm all about. Such a great game to play on the subway, going to work!

I never finished Bastion and I never got around to even getting this. Never got to a price I wanted to pay, and some of the initial feedback I heard was quite underwhelming. Curious to hear more of your thoughts on it!

It's just got really great atmosphere and simple, but addictive gameplay. It's one of those games that has such a mood to it, I just want to play more. Similar to Bastion, but the setting is a lot less cartoonish -- feels much more like a simplified RPG. Again, I think it's great on the mobile platform because you can play it in quick bursts and feel like you're progressing. It's a wonderful way to spend about 20 or 30 minutes at a time. I also think the sound design in relation to the visuals is quite beautiful. Again, I'm a sucker for games like this that create such a strong impression with their mood. I also love hack and slash, so this seems to be a nice new take on that.

I want to say it was Sy who wasn't that impressed with it when it came out, but I think he binge-played it on PC, so maybe it wasn't really built for that.
I liked Bastion a lot but just sort of got away from it and never went back. No idea why. I'd still like to beat it. Had an amazing soundtrack.

It could have been me. I tried this initially months ago and really wasn't all that impressed. I actually just played through it to completion and I probably just didn't "get it" before and take the time to learn the mechanics. It's actually a surprisingly fun game and I really really enjoyed playing around with the different ability combinations, etc.
