If this is free to play then I will totally check it out.

Looks like fun!
That CG intro video we saw last year made it enticing storywise.
MMO's rarely carry a great narrative experience though so I'm gonna count more on its gameplay merits when we get a chance to check it out. Really hope it goes free-to-play.

Getting a huge Racket and Clank vibe from this.
Anyway, given the way these games are received these days I can't imagine a world where this game isn't going to fail pretty hard. At least if it's free to play right out of the gate folks might give it a chance (odds are I won't though).

I just heard about this game a couple weeks ago, and have been trying to follow it. They've got beta singups on the main page. Not sure if it's free to play or not. (I'm keeping track of several MMOs in development at the moment, and it's hard to keep straight which ones use which business models) It does have a sort of unique (if not WoW-like) style to it, which makes it stand out.

The housing system:

Nice! The housing feature helps the game stand out from the crowd and especially from WoW given its art style.

WildStar (https://www.wildstar-online.com/en/freetoplay/) is going Free-to-play in about two days and they've set up a closed beta.
I got into the closed beta and been checking it out. Despite its traditional MMO style the game oozes with quality. It really feels like the team poured their heart and soul into it.

Curious: Has anyone played this yet? Anyone who did have any thoughts on it?

Yeah, as I mentioned I dabbled in the closed beta. I just started playing the final free-to-play release and it's pretty good.
The game adheres to the traditional MMO format, with a hot bar and character progression bit it borrows a lot from Guild Wars 2 such as the action combat and dodging. The storytelling is done in a traditional manner as well but it is excellent. Just like every other aspect of the game, it just oozes quality. The smooth animations, the characters, the art style, and even the environments all come to life.
I'm on the North American server, so if anyone hops in look me up or search for my character Onimaru Kaze.
