Is this you guys not signing in or do we have some lurkers?
-
They're here to eat your brains.
GUESTS BEGONE! Your kind are not welcome here!
Wait... I mean... sign up! We're nice people and we like newcomers. That's what I meant to say.
-
Quiet ren! Don't scare them away!
-
but I'm welcoming and refreshing :(
-
They are so not posting now.
-
Well, now there are 7, so I think your theory has holes. Maybe they're planning an invasion?
-
Without a front page we won't attract new members... so who are these guests?
My theory is that they are people we know who know we post here and lurk in an attempt to monitor us
-
Well I told a friend of mine about this place, he posts over at http://www.ufck.org/forums/ (http://www.ufck.org/forums/), not sure if hes ever going to post or not.

Ren don't just stand there, bring out the tea and biscuits.
-
I can't even remember the last time we had a guest sign up and actually stay. Maybe if Que took a shower once in a while they wouldn't be so scared off. ;)

I like to think we're friendly to newcomers, but I also think that we've become so used to people showing up for 20 posts then leaving that we are underwhelmed when new people show up.
It's not being unfriendly, it's just not worth the time to learn about someone who won't be around in a month.

Oh come on... it happens on every forum. On any given forum you will have about 50 people a month who will come in to browse and then leave. Maybe one will stick around long enough to be known as a regular. Our problem is we don't get 50 people, but more like 5.

I think that's how I started out! I was a lurker at the AOG boards first.. :-[

Heh, see? Tricking people into thinking we're cool enough to hang out with is just a slow process, that's all.
