According to this story (http://www.vg247.com/2013/09/19/nintendo-president-hiroshi-yamauchi-has-died-at-85-reports-suggest/), Hiroshi Yamauchi has died. He was 85. About as sad as news can get in the game industry. RIP, Yamauchi-san.
This is their source. (http://www.nikkei.com/article/DGXNASHD1901A_Z10C13A9000000/)

Well and truly. :(

That's sad news. Whatever state Nintendo is in now, no one can deny the legacy he left behind. He was one of the main forces that turned Nintendo from a playing card company into a video game company and the video game industry would have been a very different place without him.

Definite bummer. I mean, I think most of Nintendo's good decisions came under his watch, really. The downturn happened mostly after he left (at least in the worst ways).
