So it seems every second woman I know is obsessed with this man. I find it strange because I can tell when a man is good looking but for the life of me I can't figure out why women are crazy over Benedict Cumberbatch. I know OW is a sausage party so can't get a woman's perspective here, but really, when he got engaged or something every other female friend was talking about it like some huge tragedy.
I don't see it at all.

Who? sounds like some sort of joke of a name, like Ichabod Crane.
-
I had to look up who he was. Saw his pic...eh? I guess? I am as confused as you are.
-
He's Khan. That's all I know him from. I also don't think he's good looking but I guess as a hetero male, my opinion is irrelevant.
-
I think his rise to fame is most attributable to him playing the titular character in BBC's Sherlock. He does a great job of playing the sleuth.
That's all I've got to say about him.
-
haha I am guessing no one watches Sherlock then like iPPi mentioned.
In Asia they seem to have be more into English shows like Sherlock and Dr. Who. I don't mind Sherlock but can't understand the appeal of Dr. Who.
-
I want to see The Imitation Game
-
Sherlock is wahat really launched him. He's been getting some interesting parts in films since, like The Fifth Estate and he also played Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness.

Me neither. I have no idea who this guy is but Sean Penn is way more sexy
-
I find it so interesting that people here hardly know who he is. He is a household name in Asia/Middle East/Europe it seems. All because of Sherlock.
-
You know, I know Sherlock was picked up in North America nut I don't know anyone who watches it. I've seen a bit of it on Netflix, but that's about it. BBC is such a prominent entertainment provider elsewhere, but a lot of the content is secondary here. No one knows who the fuck Idris Elba is unless you're talking about The Wire.
-
I watched 3 episodes or so, and then drifted away. It didn't really grab me, and there are plenty of things to watch during the relatively short times I watch TV programs or movies.
So that's the guy. Yeah, I don't get it either, but . . . what Scott said.
-
That reminds me, I totally need to watch Luther. It's been on my Netflix list for forever, along with Sherlock, and I still haven't gotten to it. How the hell does anyone find time for TV?

That surprises me. He's had some bigger roles lately, especially in Prometheus and Pacific Rim.
-
Plus he was in Mandela, which I thought wasn't a good film. Has anyone seen it? The fake face they put on him at the very end to make him look like Mandela was so bad it almost seemed disrespectful! He looked like a scary clown. It doesn't look nearly as bad in stills, but in motion it looks awful.
Also, Idris Elba has a role in the Thor films.

FINE SO IT'S ONLY ME THAT YELLS "STRINGER BELL!" EVERY TIME I SEE HIM.
I hate you guys.
-
haha... I remember when I was watching The Dark Knight Rises in the cinema with friends and was really excited. In the opening scene where Bane is a prisoner on a plane with a CIA agent a friend of mine saw the agent and blurted out, "Oh look, it's Littlefinger."
It sort of ruined that amazing sequence. :P

I will admit when a man is good looking, he is odd looking. Women probably like him for the same reason some women find Sean Connery sexy today (yes, I heard a woman say this), its because he's famous.
Theres a picture of Cumberbatch compared to a Star Wars character (one in the cantina), I tried to find it, no luck.
