Polygon -> Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (stand-alone) announced, which is a prequel to Wolfenstein: The New Order - which is coming on May 5. (http://www.polygon.com/2015/3/4/8146679/wolfenstein-the-old-blood-prequel-the-new-order-machinegames)

I still need to play the first one! grumble.....

I still need to finish the first, I haven't quite gotten there. Great game, though, I'd be interested in a sequel, potentially.

Ok, it's on pre-order for $20 on GreenManGaming. (http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/ae/en/pc/games/shooter/wolfenstein-old-blood/)
The price-point is throwing me off. Is it a standalone expansion (or prequel) or is it a complete game in its own right?
I'm not doubting it as a "game" per se, just trying to manage my expectations.

I'm thinking something like Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon: same tech, same mechanics, maybe some re-used assets, but different setting and doesn't require the main game. Who knows about the length, they've said "It's a solid length", so hopefully it is.

The term is "standalone DLC", and it won't be the first. It probably could be DLC for TNO, but by selling it with all the game code required, they can also sell it to people without TNO. Blood Dragon, as mentioned, is also standalone DLC.
