I love the Steam Sale. It allows me to fill the gaps on games I never got around to getting. More importantly, it allows me to take a chance on a game I wouldn't have otherwise purchased. As lame as they are, the community events were fun and added to the experience. Hopefully they will make their return this year.

All I want is a copy of Ascension for cheap.
-
I'll probably do the usual and pick up a few games I've never heard of or never thought of and then maybe play one and love it, ignoring the rest.

Fixed.

Haha. Well, I held off on Homeworld - so far so good

Valkyria Chronicles is very tempting, but I haven't decided yet.

Would be nice if Amazon DVG price-matched that price.
I've got Bing-made Amazon GC $ to blow.

My advice is to do it. At that price you can't go wrong

I missed it. I'll probably pick it up on the final day. It's a little hard to justify buying any games when (a) I have a huge backlog, and (b) I play maybe 20 minutes a week.

i have yet to spend a penny. What is wrong with me?

Nothing.
There hasn't been anything of much worthwhile for me at my usual "I wait for 75% off or better to backlog" mantra.
I've only bought How To Survive: Storm Edition for $1.

Yeah, I'm pretty much in the same boat. I've THOUGHT about buying a lot but haven't gone through with any of it. I mean, what's the point, I have Witcher 3 going on and Arkham Knight in the dock, anything else I buy I won't touch for at least a couple of months.
I found Steam sales used to be more enticing when I had a smaller digital catalog (obviously) and they had the little side games that went along with it. Now I just think about it more rationally.

Another whiff today. Did not expect to be six days into the sale and nothing to show for it.

The Steam Sales & GOG Sales basically get weaker + weaker w/ every major sale.
-
The early morning flash sales finally got me. Grabbed Kentucky Route Zero and Dust: An Elysian Tale.
not too keen on spending that much on KR0, but it's never gone lower than 50% off that I know of.
-
The way these Steam Sales + GOG Sales are going, my wallet's....not going to be hurting at all.
-
So far it's been Crimsonland, The Fall, and MGS Ground Zeroes. I've been tempted on some others but just can't afford it right now.
-
I have more games already than I will ever play, even just talking digital, let alone physical. Sales mean nothing to me anymore unless it's something I really want. It won't convince me to buy something I'm on the fence about.

This might be the first Steam sale where I just didn't buy anything at all.
-
Shovel Knight
Goat Simulator
Kentucky Route Zero
Fallout 3 GOTY
Dust: An Elysian Tale
I'm usually good for 40-50 in a sale and feeling like I made out well. Spent 30 this year. Got what I think are probably some good games but not for the prices I had hoped.

I grabbed Super Hexagon and the Rayman Bundle (Rayman Forever, Rayman 2, Rayman 3...already had Origins) from GOG. Nothing on Steam.
