PC Gamer -> Looks like Fable Legends PC version will be exclusive to Win 10 Store + will NOT be on Steam. (http://www.pcgamer.com/fable-legends-pc-will-be-exclusive-to-the-windows-10-store/)

It has been canceled, and Lionhead may be closing. (http://news.xbox.com/2016/03/07/microsoft-studios-changes-uk-denmark/) Big news, and not the good kind, I'm afraid.
-
Ouch. That's terrible news.
I've been playing the closed beta for a while and it certainly had potential.
-
Does it play well, or does it have a lot of technical issues? I'm guessing if it went public beta, then the cancellation has nothing to do with troubled development. I'll further guess that it has to do with negative results from some market study or focus group.
And if it's neither of those, there may be even bigger news ahead.
-
Well, that news bloody sucks. Meh. Bleh.
Best wishes to those at Lionhead w/ their future endeavors.
About Fable IP + distribution rights - does Microsoft own those?
I'd still love to see a Fable 2 PC port.

It played relatively well. A few bugs and quirks here and there but nothing unexpected from a closed beta. The matchmaking worked well, the game world looked gorgeous. The only complaint I can mention is that it felt a tad bit monotonous after a few matches.
Other than some polish, the game seemed like it was a step away from going gold.

Eurogamer -> "Fable Legends wasn't the Fable you were after, but it was far from a disaster." (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-04-22-fable-legends-wasnt-the-game-you-were-after-but-it-was-far-from-a-disaster)

Eurogamer -> "Lionhead: The Inside Story." (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-05-12-lionhead-the-inside-story?utm_source=eurogamer&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=net-daily)
Basically, this about the rise + fall of the entire Lionhead studio and also what went on behind the scenes with the main studio, their satellite studios (such as Big Blue Box), and (of course) Microsoft.
