Whether Trip Hawkins was stabbed in the back or not, the fact is that the 3DO was a piece of shit.  It was way too expensive, and what you got wasn't fit to compete against anything else then in the marketplace.  The controller was horrendous, and the system underpowered (for what it was shooting at) and unreliable.  Games were mostly atrocious, but at least that part can be blamed on EA's backstabbing.

Didn't read the article because I ain't got time fo dat, but I will echo Cobra's sentiments: the 3DO was a piece of garbage. And the software for it was hilariously bad. I'm glad it exists, though, because it's given us some fun Giant Bomb videos.

Gordon recalls that they both played football. “I was down in the muddy parts, pushing people around, and he was off in the skilled positions.”

I can't wrap my head around the fact that the person who said this is actually talking about playing football in college instead of being a six year old.
