So this got announced at E3, and now I guess at QuakeCon they finally showed a gameplay trailer. I was kinda skeptical after the debut trailer, but since I love the franchise was still hoping for the best, but this new one really makes me feel a lot better. The character stuff might still end up being lame, but man, this trailer shows a lot of gameplay that's hitting all the right notes:
I'm definitely cautiously optimistic now. Maybe just a little excited.

Get hype.

Yes, yes, yes!

Love the new trailer. Feels like Quake.
-
Signed immediately. GIVE IT TO ME
-
Yay! I signed up too. If it comes out when Persona 5 is out I won't be playing it though.

First character trailer: Nyx (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IpArsMcs3o)
Abilities seem neat, I guess? Though Bethesda has confirmed that you'll be able to play with abilities disabled for some straight up Quake.
-
That is good news. I was kinda hoping they might have like an "original" mode or something.
-
Nyx ghost walk video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hitiPsobMT4). You can get a better sense of what her ability does. Seems to be on a long cooldown so it won't be like overwatch where abilites are going off all the time.
Blood Covenant Arena (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePnikEEWCp8) video shows off the map, which you'll recognize from Quake 3.
-
God damn I want it so much. Everything they post makes me want it more.
-
IGN preview (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_lPOoTPVuNM) matches my feelings. The game is good. It's fast, it's brutal, it's Quake. But the "Champions" aspect to it is kinda meh. I'm looking forward to the straight up vanilla mode. No abilities, just Quake.
Good to know there will be an option to just straight up but the game and get all the characters, though. Depending on price I might just go with that.

Is it out?
-
It is not. But there was a closed beta that several people who shall remain nameless may or may not have taken part in.
-
Que, report?
-
@Pug
Those who got into the QC Closed Beta are under NDA.
-
MysterD is correct, I'm afraid.
-
Quake Champions Closed Beta is back up + running.
-
It's been on for 3-day windows I think 3 times now? Next one is the 27th.
-
Giant Bomb posted a couple videos of this today. They first recorded one but then the NDA changed so they couldn't post it. Now they can and they recorded a second video! Wee!

Is anyone here interested in playing the beta? I got 3 codes to give out.
-
Yeah, I got these as well if anybody wants in.

Open Tech Test (https://bethesda.net/en/article/3ZAtUz6NgQMeIIKSEKE8yK/quake-champions-large-scale-tech-test-and-sacrifice-mode-coming-soon)
Large-Scale Tech Test
Haven’t been able to get into the Closed Beta? You’re in luck! From May 12 through May 21, there will be a Large-Scale Tech Test where everyone who wants to play Quake Champions will be able to. No wondering if you’re going to get a code – you’ll get it right away! Unlike the previous weekends-only structure, the game will remain live 24/7 during the Tech Test. Test out all the currently available Champions and maps for 9 days straight and let us know what you think in the Quake Champions forums.
With the Tech Test now in effect, the player NDA is official dropping, meaning you can now stream, capture, share and discuss the game publicly! We can’t wait to see you all show off your skills online.
You can play and with no NDA people will be streaming and talking about it openly. New game mode added as well, a 4v4 team mode.
