Bored, hadn't messed with my tablet in a while, found a fairly simple drawing on Da.

nice. good transition of colour on the legs. i'm sure you've said before, but what tablet are you using and how happy are you with it?
-
Wacom Graphire 4 4x5. I'd like the next model up (Intuos) for the tilt sensing which would allow for some nice effects in programs like Painter, but I can't really justify the cost. I can't draw for crap, so it'd be wasted. For what I use it for, I'd say I'm pretty happy with the one I got.
Speaking of programs, I forgot to mention I did my coloring in Open Canvas 1.1 (the free version).

is the pressure sensitivity adjustable so that if you tend to press a bit too hard or too soft, you can change a setting to compensate? also, how's the photoshop support (i guess it just "works")?
sorry for the inquisition, but i'm looking at getting a tablet when i've got a few spare pennies and the graphire 4 looks quite attractive. oh yeah, one more - can you use other mice than the one that the tablet comes with?
-
I never used the mouse that came with it, so yeah.
Pressure sensitivity is adjustable in just about every art program that supports pressure sensitivity. And yes, Photoshop just works.

I have a Graphire 3... never got a lot of use out of it. Apparently tablets just plain aren't my thing. I couldn't never get comfortable with it for drawing. Coloring was nice with it, though.
Anyway... nice job, idol. This proves that you must be my colorist when I do magical comic art. Seriously. I think it would be really fun to fiddle with. I should totally just draw some shit for you to color up, see if I can't imagine up something interesting.

I wish I could afford a tablet like a Graphire. At the minute I'm making do with a tiny, tiny Trust tablet. It does the job, though. I don't colour, though, usually. This is probably the best I ever got out of it:

So I'm downloading a podcast and didn't know what else to do but color again!

Yay, it's Scud! Well done... nice attention to detail.
-
Is SCUD still around? I never read any of the proper comics, but the guy always seemed pretty great.
-
Holy shit thank you for making me go look it up. You can read what happened. (http://www.robschrab.com/scud/whathappened.html)
Good news! Schrab got the rights back to Scud, is making issue #21 to wrap things up and release a big book of all the comics! FUCK YEAH! I hope it includes the other stuff like La Costa Nostroid and Tales from the Vending Machine.
-
My god. My eys hurt after looking at that page for a couple minutes.
-
You've got some sweet colouring abilities, sir.
-
Another quick coloring (probably only 30 minutes). Zombies!

Got the original image from Tony Moore (http://tonymooreillustration.com/gallery/main.php), who I guess works on the comic, The Walking Dead. The images are huge, perfect for coloring and putting details in. Of course I ignored that and just did what I usually do because I have no patience.
-
Nice! Is that the comic you were looking at at Comic Relief?
-
Yeah, it seems pretty cool. Haven't say down and read any of it more than just a page or 2.
