Title: Stupid Oakland trip
Post by: angrykeebler on Monday, April 30, 2007, 10:54:13 AM
That trip to visit Que and Sy earlier this month just wound up costing me another $600.

I played Gears of War all day yesterday.

Best. Game. Ever.

Heh, you poor bastard.  I apologize.  Then again, I'm sure you're hardly regretting it at this point, no?

Yea we should feel more sorry for Idol for having to get to play it and then taken away.

It's an amazing game.  I played through SP on Hardcore, then went through it again on Insane.  Insane is really quite challenging, but the difficulty for it is just right on insane if you're playing coop.

Haha.  I haven't played GoW in quite awhile.  All I play now are Arcade games.  I was going to pick up Guitar Hero 2 yesterday but I couldn't find it anywhere.

This should probably be in the gaming forum.

I picked up GH2 today.  Jennie is pretty much going to murder me.

That's what I'm playing (as I mentioned in the 'Currently Playing" thread).  I'm nearly finished with career mode on medium.  This is a hell of a game.

Also, are you on Live?

Sorry, Q.  I will now refer to it only as Gecko Houston to remove some of the sting.  ;)

Yeah, I have Live, but only Silver.  I used to have Gold but found it worthless.

I played for about an hour and fifteen minutes tonight and it was fucking awesome.  Some of the songs I couldn't get into a rhythm for some reason, but others I really felt like part of the band and that I was sort of making part of the music.  Hard to explain.

But yeah, awesome game.

Haha, that's nothing.  I was semi interested in the game before this week.  A guy at work asked if I knew anything about the game.  I said I played it a couple of times at Best Buy, and it was pretty cool.  So he starts scouring the city for a copy and scores one that night.

I ask him the next day how the game is, and he says, "It's pretty much the most fun game I've ever played."

I was like, "You fucker!  Now I have to get it."

Heh.  The problem is I know it's awesome because I've played it.  My friend Paul and I are both guitarists, so when his roommate got it we popped it in, set it to expert, and just started going.  I was pretty hooked.  I mean, it's really nothing at all like playing a guitar, nor even half as satisfying, but because of all the tacked on *game* elements and all the unlockables, crazy style... it becomes this whole different beast that's just really addictive and fun.

Haha yea. I played it for the first time on St. Pattys day at a friends party. I loved it. So I talked to K-Man about it and he was a fanatic on it. Though he said he was willing to sell it to me since he doesn't play it anymore. In the end I traded all my Saturn stuff for his Guitar Hero stuff. Then K-Man ends up buying the 360 version anyway after scouring Cookeville for like weeks. Me and a friend stayed up all night playing it and had an absolute blast. Ahh, good times.

I've been in a Guitar Hero 2(PS2 version) kick again lately playing Co-op with my roommate, good times.  I only need like 6 more songs to completely beat Expert, I'm stuck on Psychobilly Freakout and it pisses me off because I know I can do Hangar 18 and Misirlou on Expert.  I should probably give it another go soon after warming up these last couple of days.

Psychobilly Freakout is probably the hardest song in the game. One of the only ones I needed multiple tries to beat. If you can beat Hangar 18, PF shouldn't be too far out of your reach. Keep doing it, eventually it'll just click.
