I saw this tonight. It is sort of an homage to the first Predator. It has a very similar score and uses those creepy drums all the time. Plus there are lots (and I do mean lots) of scenes that are reminiscent of the first one.
It was not as good as the first, but certainly better than all the other Predator-related crap we've seen in between. I think what it really lacks is a true star. I miss 80's-style action heros.
