Title: Don't watch The Sentinel.
Post by: Pugnate on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, 03:24:34 AM
A waste of Keifer Sutherlands talents. Actually a waste of all those involved. The movie starts... keeps going and then just finishes without anything really ever happened.

There is a false accusation, a hero on the run, and then the real guilty party is revealed, but isn't a big surprise.

There is a minor shoot out, and then the movie ends.

And you are like W T F?

Yeah, I wouldn't say it was a bad movie, but it certainly was nothing better than okay or mediocre.

It was more like a TV movie. I'm glad I didn't waste any money in the Cinema.

I hate pointless movies.  There's one with Gary Sinise, called Impostor, where he is suspected of being an enemy robot--basically a walking bomb.  Let's see, should I put the rest in a spoiler thingie?  (How does that work?  Hmm . . .  Ah, easy enough.)

Well, I can conceive of some scenario where it might have been.  But here, I just felt that the audience was cheated.  What I mean is, the plotline does not support the conclusion.  It's a bait-and-switch with no logic other than "we spooked you at the end, tee hee!"  Watch the movie sometime, see if you disagree.

You know I loved both seasons of 24, but after some of the 'revelations' I had a similar feeling. It was like getting surprised for the sake of it.

Something like the Sixth Sense was so fantastic, because there were hints through out. It wasn't something that happened on a whim.

That's a great example.  The Sixth Sense did not cheat the audience.  It's clear when you watch it a 2nd time what was going on.  The ending did not make an impossible leap just to shock you.  The ending was well earned.  Beautifully done.

I saw part of this and it seemed really cheesy.. I couldn't handle it.

Sixth sense..  parts of that really freaked me out.  I'm glad i dont' see ghosts or I would've seen a lot growing up where i grew up.
