Oh please, be good. One of my fondest memories as a kid was moving up from a 486 Dx2 to a Pentium 100 mhz chip and 16MB of ram and finally getting to play Mechwarrior 2 in something like decent graphical fidelity. I loved how unforgiving it was... distinctly remember being locked in combat with another mech trying to complete a mission and having one leg blown off... and using jump jets to "hop" around trying to finish. I was the one legged mech in an ass kicking contest. If new single player can capture even a little of that hardcore simulation feel and marry it with some modern storytelling elements, i'll be a happy lad.

I really, really hope this turns out well. Hopefully Piranha Games will do MechWarrior 5 well, considering they did a decent job with MechWarrior Online.
Heavy Gear Assault (http://store.steampowered.com/app/416020/), developed by MekTek Studios, went on Early Access on Steam for around $30 and it is not faring well (so far 40% positive reviews). I only bring it up since Heavy Gear was mainly a spin-off from the MechWarrior franchise.
