Eurogamer - Microsoft announces the cancellation of Platinum's upcoming game Scalebound, which been in the works for 4 years. (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2017-01-09-sources-microsoft-and-platinum-part-ways-on-scalebound-development-ceased)

Yep. Was sort of intrigued by it, though I never got a clear sense of what the final product would have been. Another one bites the dust for Microsoft.

Reports had generally been pretty bad about it, so I can't say this seems entirely unexpected. Though I did assume they would just ship it and it wouldn't be very good, rather than it actually getting canceled. I feel bad for Kamiya, but this one is probably better off in the ground.

Damn, I was kinda looking forward to it. The prospect sounded quite ambitious.

Good ol Kamiya. Looking forward to seeing what else they get after now that this is done.

Destructoid - Microsoft renews Scalebound trademark + rumors begin to fly. (https://www.destructoid.com/rumor-has-it-that-microsoft-is-trying-to-salvage-scalebound-436812.phtml)
So, Microsoft renewed Scalebound trademark.
Will they salvage what they had w/ Platinum Games?
Will Platinum finish it? Or will they (Microsoft) have another team finish it?
Or will they (Microsoft) have some other company restart + re-do the game entirely from scratch?
