Soon the next expansion will be released and they will be switching things up a bit. They've added so much content to the game for free that they will be raising the base price from $15 to $25. That will be for the "Treasure Trove" edition, which will contain all current and future additions to the game. If you buy now, you are buying the Treasure Trove, and it is currently on sale for $10 everywhere! Steam, GOG, eshop, whatever. So buying now is good for you if you've been waiting.

Is this true for international versions as well? Like can I get the JP version and get in on this, or is this just NA?

Pretty sure its worldwide? You'd have to ask but it seems like anyone that buys the game now gets all future content for free. I wouldnt think other regions would be different.
