I saw that.  I loved the first two games and always wanted a third and fourth.  Thought it was a really cool concept from the first - one game for each horseman, Zelda like style.  That said, considering reviews and my backlog, I'm waiting for a sale on this.

I only played through the first one, it was a pretty cool Zelda style game. I always loved the art style these games have.

Also fucking hell D, use your goddamn place holder posts.

I know, I can be lazy at times. If it's big threads I've done this in - eh, sorry. I've been lazy and not put the threads together properly.

Though, I don't really have enough posts in this thread to really use that yet.

I only have the original post and the Metacritic scores right now for real links here.

Usually, the place-holder is for this:
1. Usually, I move post #1 (to open the thread to get it going) to #2 at some point.

2. That's done when I really to highlight or throw all of the important links/posts/etc in the first spot and when the original stuff isn't as relevant anymore.

So, that's why I often do eat up spots #1 and 2 in a thread that I start.

I'm enjoying Darksiders 3 but it's not the best in the trilogy. It's not a bad game by any measure, but it lacks some of the things that made the previous games great.

It's not exactly open-world. It's more like an openly accessible labyrinth. Given the right tools you can unlock new areas etc.

Visually it's not stunning but it does look good; it's more about art style than technical graphics. That said, some of the effects e.g. reflections are very well done.

I actually like the labyrinth idea. I honestly wasn't that big on the "open-world" aspect of the first one. It wasn't focused enough and felt like it meandered into meaningless territory too often. But I also think the art is cool, and I love how the third one looks. I still need to go back and play 2 at some point.

I don't remember the first being open world all that much but the second def was.  Am I remembering wrong?

I guess you're right? It was like open but not open-open. Or something. It's been a while.
