Title: UFO 50
Post by: idolminds on Monday, August 07, 2017, 10:28:09 AM
It started showing up on Twitter as screenshots with the hashtag #UFO50, usually from some known indie devs. All the screenshots had the same resolution and shared a color palette so people started speculating what it might be.

Now we know. (http://50games.fun/)

I am excited!

According to this ArsTechnica article (https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2017/08/spelunky-creator-finally-returns-with-a-new-game-er-50-of-them/), its local.

Quote
Yu describes the collection as "games created in the '80s by a fictional company that was obscure but ahead of its time." He insists UFO 50 is not a collection of "micro-games" and estimates that "hundreds of hours" are required to beat them all. He says roughly one-third of the included games will support local multiplayer.

Note that its "supports local multiplayer", so I would guess the majority are solo games with 2p modes rather than multiplayer-only titles. Still, with 50 games even if a few were MP only that would be ok.
