General Discussion / Where's Pugnate and his new PC's Specs?
« Last post by MysterD on Sunday, October 08, 2023, 09:29:46 AM »
Pug mentioned to me online he bought a new PC...and I'm still waiting to hear more about it, with its specs and all.

So, yeah - I'm creating this thread, to hopefully get him talking about it. :P

Yup. You're right. Crazy how the requirements for RAM have taken a sudden jump.

Nice. I have an awesome Alienware laptop, but unfortunately, it only has 16GB of RAM, and I need 32-64 to edit 4K video.
So might have to build a new desktop, which sucks because I don't want to have so many machines lol.

32-64GB RAM is probably a good idea just given what PC versions of Forspoken, Icarus, Hogwarts, and others now require for a minimum (16GB RAM) and recommend (i.e. 24-32GB).

I'm probably gonna have to do the RAM-upgrade at some point too.

Although I do still have Facebook Messenger and I see you in my friends list so apparently I must have added you somewhere along the line

I tried to get into this and failed. It seemed like it would be up my alley, so not sure why it didn't click, but I ended up refunding it. Somehow just didn't feel like I was going to stick with it. Did the same with Risk of Rain 2 that everyone seems to love. I really found that one weird and un-fun.

Ditto for me on everything. I played The Ascent, got a few hours out of it and never touched it again. Not really my cup of tea, but I figured I'd give it a shot.

I bought Risk of Rain 2 on sale about two weeks ago, put 30 minutes into it and absolutely hated the game. Didn't even feel the need to keep it installed to try it later to see if it had any redeeming qualities. Really hated this one...

SSDs are getting cheaper! And the ole' magnetic hard drives are even cheaper now.

Been tempted to grab another SSD for my system. I'm running out of room haha

My wife and I have been looking at Canada (primarily because we know some folks and work opportunities would come more easily for my wife), but Germany has also been a major consideration. Still looking at things. Germany would be a lot more possible if it weren't for my dog. She's a pit bull and they have breed-specific legislation over there. It's bullshit, but probably not much we can do to circumvent it.

Que, hit me up anytime on Facebook if you need advice.
I think Ontario also had pitbull laws, but they were reversed.
