Picked up a few 360 games
« on: Sunday, December 10, 2006, 02:19:42 PM »
I just grabbed a few games on Amazon because they were too damn cheap to pass up.

Kameo: Elements of Power - I played the demo and wasn't too impressed, but it got fairly good reviews, and it's a Rare adventure game, so it can't be that bad.  The graphics were nice too.  Plus it was only ten bucks.

GRAW - I've been wanting either this or Vegas, but since this was only 25 bucks and Vegas was 60, I went with graw.  I played the MP demo and it was great.  I'm looking forward to this one the most.

Perfect Dark Zero - I know a few of you said it sucked, but it was also only ten bucks, and I thought the demo was pretty cool.  Plus, it might be fun to play DM online if anybody still plays it.  For ten bucks I couldn't pass it up.

Ninja Gaiden - Yeah, not a 360 game, but I've been wanting to play it since I heard about it on xbox.  Only 9 bucks for this one, should be good.

Anybody play any of these?  I never would have gotten them if I wasn't scouring Amazon for used games, but when I saw them so cheap I had to.  If you're looking for some cheap used games, amazon's the place.  Also, anything that I missed that I need to pick up (360 or original xbox - and I don't like Halo)?  I already have Gears of War.

Que has a constant hardon over Dead Rising. Scottws wasn't impressed and I am not sure how Scary_tooth liked it, but the guys at PCG have confessed to wanting a port fast.

I was actually looking at that one.  I don't know much about it though, and it was like $40, so I held off.  I'm grabbing the demo from xbox live right now, though.

Also, I can't fucking wait for Lost Planet.  If you guys haven't tried the demos on Live yet, you really need to.  Theres a SP and an MP demo on there right now, and both are fucking awesome.  I might even preorder it, which I haven't done with a game since Ocarina of Time.

Definitely get Dead Rising.  Or at least try it out.  It's one of the games most worth owning on the system at present, and it does a lot of things that haven't really been done before (at least not properly, or in the right combinations).  It's a lot of fun and has more than its fair share of cool moments.  The main thing is its fairly tough and the save system is very restrictive.  Personally, I thought that made the whole time-limit gimmick of the game really cool and relevant, but others don't like it much.  Still, everyone I know that gave it a fair shake eventually ended up liking it to a degree. I'm pretty sure scott even changed his tune a bit after he tried it more.  His main beef with it was that the boss characters are all humans and not zombies, if I recall correctly.

Perfect Dark Zero, in my opinion, was an extremely solid action game. I loved it. I agree with Greg Kasavin on Gamespot... he gave it a 9.0. It's excellent and well polished.

Dark Sector looks badass.  Between that game, Lost Planet, and Mass Effect, I can barely wait for 07.  I just watched the Mass Effect trailer and it looks awesome.
