The game will also benefit from a custom controller by Ripleigh, releasing in the first quarter of next year. The buttons will be programmable, you will be able to control every aspect of your Mech with a variety of switches, buttons, and toggles, and there will even be a slot for your tablet.

Hardware-maker Razer and MechWarrior Online developer Piranha Games are collaborating on a peripheral called the Razer Artemis. The prototype doesn’t have a listed price or ship date, but this may be the first time a (what’s likely to be) hundreds-of-dollars device will be sold for a free-to-play game.

Huh. I'm hopeful that Mechwarrior Online will be worthwhile. I wonder if anything else could make use their controller easily. As far as I can tell, it's more or less a joystick, a keypad, and an extra screen. Maybe not the screen, but the joystick and keypad might be flexible for other things. It might be tough if it doesn't come apart though as a joystick is usually best centered (say for flight sims).

I dunno. I bit on Steel Battalion but I have a lot less money to through around these days.
