I'm so fucking sick of this bullshit I could vomit.  I think assassinations are going to need to occur before this shit stops.

The statement of claim, dated Dec. 4, includes a copy of the patent and associated technical drawings for a "Trigger Operated electronic Device", which depict a device similar to a television remote control with a trigger under the front end.

Nintendo's Wii (pronounced "we") video game console uses a motion-sensitive controller that resembles a TV remote control, which has a trigger on the underside of the device. Gamers can swing the device like a sword or wield it like a gun and press the trigger to execute an action in the game world.

What exactly is the infringement? Coz if they're suing over "Trigger Operated electronic Device" they may as well sue every electronic device that has a frickin' trigger.

EDIT:
I'm with you Que.

Interlink sues Nintendo: 'We own the patent on trigger buttons'

The 'Wiimote' controller apparently violates their patent - not because of the motion sensitivity, but because Nintendo dared to put a trigger-type button on the bottom.

Pack it in, everyone; the human race is doomed.

If they piss enough people off, those aren't the only triggers they have to worry about.

So we've heard.

However, I will merge the topics due to your support of my feeling that we're all totally b0rked.

Seems like the controllers are having more than one problem.   :P

You all know my opinion about this kind of shit.  But if there are going to be assassinations, they need to start in the patent office, before working their way to leeching lawyers.

That's just silly people. Though having said that, I now expect myself to do the same thin eventually.

Jeez, how lame.

So is the thing about launched Wii remotes into windows and kids getting "Wii-elbow". It just goes to show if you act like an idiot, dumb things will happen... and if you don't exercise your body, you won't even be able to play a video game nowadays.

Nintendo's Wii game console isn't just flying off store shelves -- it's flying out of players' hands.

The game company's president announced Thursday that the company was investigating reports that players were losing control of the game's remote, causing it to crash into nearby television screens, ceiling fans, even windows and dishes.

The system's weak point is, ironically, its unique selling point: a motion-sensitive controller that's waved like a wand as players participate in video swordfights, bowling, golf or tennis.

But apparently, some gamers aren't wearing the controller's strap around their wrists or are wearing it too loosely.

There are even some reports that the strap is prone to tearing without notice.
You need to wear a strap?? How oily are these peoples' hands?

The only complaint I would even listen to would be if the straps tear easily.  If that's true, there's a valid complaint.  Otherwise, shut the hell up and learn how to not be a dipshit.
