Airplanes can't go supersonic near population centers, but ambulances are now going to be blaring out low-frequency shockwaves through city streets.  Ridiculous.  Can you imagine the damage?  Ah, but it will "save lives", so it's a good tradeoff, right?

That's patently idiotic.

Also, I like how he said "The most frequent thing motorists say to us is they didn't see the ambulance coming."  So of course this is the obvious solution, even though it in no way rectifies the fact that people still won't see the ambulance coming or what direction it's coming from.

To be fair, you're not supposed to be moving at all if you know an ambulance is anywhere close to you.

Obviously you've never experienced the joy of trying to outrun an ambulance.

Why the fuck would you do that you stupid son of a bitch?  Everyone knows you pull over to let them pass and then rip along behind them at breakneck speeds.

Oh my God man. I mean it's annoying enough that sirens are annoyingly loud. They don't just get my attention, they piss me off too.

After living on a major intersection in St. Catharines I honestly don't understand why the fuck emergency vehicles need such obnoxiously loud sirens. I don't believe there are blind people driving, and if they are well you have bigger problems than simply trying to get past them. Seriosuly, a chime or a chirp would do instead of a ridiculously loud HONK or WOOOoo.

Oh yes, the sirens in St.Catharines are far too loud. I was actually walking home when an Ambulance right next to me suddenly went off and scared the shit out of me. It was nuts.

I know this sounds insensitive, but the ambulances there seem to have the loudest sirens ever.

I live by my own rules. Sometimes you just have to take the bull by the horns. Maybe one day you will be kickass enough to understand that.

I always cover my ears when I'm on foot and an ambulance is coming.  If my kids are with me, I tell them to do the same.  Close up, the noise is physically painful, which means it's doing damage.

I don't like how sirens these days are speaker-based.  When they were actually sirens, I could hear them coming better than I do now.  I never seem to hear them until they are right on top of me because the speaker isn't pointed at me.
