Dude, I thought you woulda been the first to see this! Like second only to the director! Weren't you on the set? I'm pretty sure you were in the Batcave.. If we freeze frame 60 minutes and 29 seconds in we can see a silhouette of what appears to be a big Pakistani dude wearing a cape.. with bat ears.. It could have been just a shadow but I have faith that it was none other than Lord Pugnacio himself!

I enjoyed the flick in the cinema, but the more I think about it now, the less I care about it.

Picked this up on blu-ray on Tuesday -- I had some time yesterday so I watched a bit of it.  Still as good as I remembered it.  The HD video, especially the IMAX scenes are amazing.  The alternating aspect ratios are not at all as distracting as I thought it would be, though I do wish that they entire film was presented in IMAX instead. 

Great audio package as well -- this is demo quality.

I can't wait to watch it again... a couple of flaws aside, it was a great movie. I'll watch again to see if those flaws were exaggerated in my mind.

I get to see it in Blu-Ray in a couple weeks. Pretty sure that'll be the third best part of the year, first being seeing Dark Knight and second being seeing it again in IMAX.

I definitely found the flaws less offensive the 2nd time I saw it.  I'm looking forward to getting it on Blu-ray.  That and Wall-E (how different can you get?).

Just finished my first viewing on DVD and second viewing overall... awesome movie. The flaws were less offensive for sure, though the first half of the third act was still the weakest. The Harvey transformation was for some reason a bit more believable this time. The ending was quite good and the soundtrack was just top notch.

While the movie is certainly gripping, with great performances, I was not impressed with the plot.  In particular, the behavior of crowds and cops as a group seemed improbable to me in the extreme.  Without their credibility, the storyline fails.  That marred the experience overall, though I am glad I got to see (most of) the film.  The characters themselves were the highlights, though the new Rachel did not impress me.  I know Katie Holmes got sucked away by a cult, but they could have recast that part better.

I'm still in the midst of watching this again.  It looks like it will take a third sitting.  My earlier criticism only touches on the most obvious problems with this plot.  There are too many more.  It's one thing when you have a supernatural being squaring off with regular cops, but the joker is just a garden-variety psychopath.  I don't buy the story at all this time around, not a bit of it, not even Harvey Dent's change of heart (which is entirely on his own shoulders, and makes no sense given his character for the first 90 minutes of the film).  Honestly, the plot absolutely stinks, and the great performances can't add enough perfume to make up for it.

Really, the movie doesn't even have that much of a plot.  The story is pretty typical superhero stuff and has no real details.  The first movie had much more.  Still, I enjoy this one for what it does have.  I do agree that I didn't buy Dent, though.  I thought that was somewhat mishandled (though it stung less on third viewing), and even beyond that it was a mistake to kill him off so quickly.

The movie may not be a masterpiece, but it does at least continue the legacy of the first movie from the perspective of a suitably dark Batman and a truly adult, serious superhero epic.  Next outing (if there is one) they really just need more of a story.  This one was basically just "guy in bat suit fights mental patient in clown suit".  Great characters, but not much intrigue.

Yeah, the Harvey Dent thing was out of left field.  They tried to make it like the Joker caused it to happen by pushing him over the edge but really there wasn't enough there to make him suddenly evil.  You're girlfriend was killed by some psychopath?  It's the psychopath's fault, not everyone else's.

I mean we all knew it was coming but it displayed just as badly as Anakin Skywalker's sudden switch of allegiances in Revenge of the Sith.

I really liked The Dark Knight, but Batman Begins was better.  I agree with Que in that there just isn't a lot here.  Still, I found it entertaining.

I saw the this on blu-ray just now on my plasma. F'ing incredible.

The IMAX scenes are absolutely stunning on full HD.

The flaws in the movie I found more tolerable on the third viewing. I even bought Dent's transformation. Basically, he was punishing the crooked cops who killed Rachel. The Joker presented himself to Dent as some maniac without a logical thought. To punish him would be like hitting a retarded child. Punishing the crooked cops probably made more sense to The Joker.

Yes, it is a bit loose... but who cares, the movie was awesome.

Anyway, if you are building a blu-ray collection, this is one of the movies to get, especially for the IMAX scenes.
