Can't believe Chris Metzen can't even remember if a character is alive or not, and he writes all the lore for the damn game.

Do people honestly they care anymore? The Warcraft background* has become so convoluted and lame that its just sad now. Much of what made Warcraft interesting was lost when major events started happening on a yearly basis in order to produce new content. Its a cash machine, nothing more.

* I also would like point out how I hate how "lore" is used now and refuse to use it to refer to backstory or history. The term became popular because of WoW while it was fitting at the time, it somehow got attached to background for all games when if the game universe doesn't have huge histories. I even heard someone use lore to talk about the setup for Super Meat Boy. It just needs to stop.

It actually bothers me because I'd like to follow all the the various stories about the characters and events in Warcraft's history. The more I learn about it all though, the more it bugs me, because so much of it is so lame, because it's all just tossed in there as a way to service the new expansions, reputations, and other various grinds.

--INC NERD RAGE--
Here's just one of many examples I could give: The Horde. Maybe I missed this by not playing WC3, but I though the Horde was supposed to be "the orcish horde", a bloodthirsty group of violent green creatures (you know, sort of like Orcs in Warhammer, the ones Blizzard originally copied and pasted into the Warcraft universe.) But now they're the peace-loving horde, led by Thrall, who desperately wants peace between the Horde and Alliance. Fuck that shit. I'm not playing WoW to hold hands with an elf, I want to kill shit. And every time you get a badass character, Blizzard goes out of their way to make clear he's in the wrong, or he's weak. In Cataclysm, Garrosh Hellscream is taking over as the Warchief, and he fucking wants WAR, and is going to murder Cairne Bloodhoof. Oh, but it's just temporary while Thrall goes to learn how to be one with the earth. And he actually duels Cairne, but only wins because someone else secretly poisoned his axe with something to weaken Cairne. And Thrall will be back shortly to chastise him like a little child, and retake position as Warchief.

There's a perfect opportunity to turn the Horde back into something that's actually cool, and they fuck it up because they want to make sure people can identify with them as good guys instead of flocking to the Alliance like early WoW was, before those retarded blood elves were added to horde so people could be horde and pretty at the same time.

ok, rant over...

EDIT: Anyway, my take on the whole rd shirt guy situation: Blizzard adds so much random retarded shit to Warcraft that they can't even keep all the facts in check.

Well I thought it was funny.  And W7RE play WC3 theres a reason why the orcs were blood thirsty in the beginning.

Your indignation amuses me.
