I was only mildly amused, though I guess it's true it would be better if I knew anything about the anime. It got me thinking about how most anime is pretty mundane and pointless unless you're really into the style and all the... OH SHIT THE END IS FUCKING GREAT!

Haha, awesome!  I was just thinking about anime the other night.  I am on the hunt for something entertaining along the lines of Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, etc.  Preferrably something I could watch streaming for free.

Bullshark, it sounds like you want to watch action-comedy animes and if you haven't seen it already Outlaw Star is a pretty goofy sci-fi action anime.  FLCL is pretty funny too, but crazy as hell.

If you just want to watch some sci-fi anime with some light comedy but mainly a focus on drama, Planetes and Noein are both good.  Ergo Proxy is awesome too if you feel like watching a dystopian sci-fi anime, but its a pretty heavy anime with little to no comedy in most of the episodes.

I could suggest others but they are nowhere near what you are looking for.

I check in from time to time to see how all the cool peeps are doing.  Also, you wouldn't happen to know anything about an area north of Vancouver, BC called the Sunshine Coast would you?  It sounds like a place I would want to bask in, being sunny and all.  Unless it's one of those joke names meant to lure unsuspecting stupid tourists, that would be disappointing.  Though I wouldn't put it past those sneaky snow people from the northlands.

The Sunshine Coast is pretty much awesomeness. Everything you've heard is correct, except for the sun all the time. Expect rain. It's temperate rain forest.

Wait wait wait....depending on what you're looking for you might think that the Sunshine Coast is either awesome or the shittiest place on earth.  It's the kind of place that can be awesome, but you kind of need a reason to be there.  It's not fun in and of itself.
