Everything you loved about Steel Battalion, but now with 100% less controller!

Wait...that *was* everything we loved about Steel Battalion. Fuck.

That's sort of a shame, or something, I don't know. Considering how Kinetic things tend to do I was expecting the game not to work, but it's a shame the game itself wasn't put together that well either. At least with the original game the controls were pretty awesome even if the game had lots of regular issues.

A lot of that stuff in the video seems really cool and I wish someone could put together plodding heavy hitting sim like that. The idea that the game make no qualms about driving something like a giant tank a difficult task still appeals to me. I think the coolest thing about the quicklook was that you never had a clear view of the action until you popped your head out of the top and looked around where you expose yourself to danger. Even opening the view port in the tank had risks like glass blowing out in your face if you got hit. I know that doesn't translate into fun on the game side, but it has the potential to make an interesting experience.
