I've been wanting to play a paladin as an alt for a while now, but I've had trouble getting myself to play anywhere but where my 60 rogue is. Well now that horde get paladins, I can just make a BE one. Plus, Blizzard has made the paladin class seem badass with Blood Elves. Because the Blood Elves are a power-hungry race that have an unquenchable thirst for magic, the way the fit paladins in is by saying they steal the power of the light. Sounds cheesy, but it comes across as cool to me.
For example, the level 12 quest to get your resurrection ability. The other race's quest have you do something charitable, if I recall. for the Blood Elves, you are sent to a cave where you are ambushed by another BLood Elf paladin, a member of a group called the Blood Knights. You kill him, and then return to find that the assassination was planned by the guy who gave you the quest. You pass the test by surviving the ambush. Then you are sent to the basement where a demon of sorts is being held captive,a nd you capture some of it's essence in a vial, which you then use to resurrect the guy you killed.
So Blood Elf Paladins get their power of light by forcably taking it. Pretty cool. Plus now I don't have to be a big bulky and weird looking human, or a squatty dwarf. Oh, and instead of bright gold PVP gear, Blood Elf Paladins get this High Warlord gear:

Looks pretty badass to me. (BTW that tabard is obtained during the epic mount quest at level 60. I also used the level 60 HWL boots instead of the level 70 ones, because the level 70 ones are grey, but have the same model and design.)
On the other hand, my rogue is starting to look pretty retarded haha. He went from looking badass in his bloodfang, and now almost as badass in his bonescythe, to looking like this in level 65 blues and greens:
